Helen currently teaches piano at Bristol University. She also runs the Professional Studies Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Helen previously taught piano for 10 years at Trinity College of Music Junior Department, as well as teaching at Leeds College of Music, Cheltenham Ladies College, South Hampstead High School and Bristol Cathedral School. Her qualifications include an ARCM diploma, PG Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
Helen runs a busy private teaching practice in Bristol, working primarily with advanced level students, and talented young pianists. She was invited to contribute to the recent OUP book, 'Musicians in the Making.' She has also written articles for Classical Music magazine and given research seminars at the Guildhall School on 'The Psychological Impact of Injuries on Musicians' and 'Communication in Music Performance.'
In addition, Helen has been invited to give masterclasses and workshops at Wells Cathedral School, Royal Holloway, University of London, Trinity College of Music, Bath University, Dartington International Summer School and Pro Corda among others.
Helen has worked as an adjudicator for the BBC Young Musician of the Year and various music festivals. She has also examined final recitals at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music.
